PRESIDENT

NGWF President Amirul Haque Amin was born in 1961 at a remote village of rural Bangladesh. He joined student movement at his tender age. When he was studying at the University of Dhaka, he was elected General Secretary of National Student Union and involved in organizing anti-martial law democratic student movement. As part of the movement, he helped tailors of Dhaka city to organize a union. Most of these tailors joined garment factories in early eighties. 
They along with Amin founded the NGWF in 1984. After his study he was elected General Secretary and later President of NGWF. He is the longest serving leader of the organization. Amin has been fighting for workers’ rights in Bangladesh with admirable courage for over 30 years. He is the substitute member of the Steering Committee of the Accord on Fire & Building Safety in Bangladesh, he is the chairman of IndustryALL Bangladesh Council. Amin received the Nuremberg International Human Rights Award on 27 September, 2015.
